Soho Physiotherapy was founded in 1997 on a simple motto — creative solutions to musculoskeletal problems. Twenty-eight years and roughly 160,000 patients later, that idea still runs the practice: pain relief that lasts is not enough on its own, so we pair manual therapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation, in line with NICE guidance, to rebuild the strength and capacity behind the pain. Today the practice spans 6 central London clinics — Soho, Liverpool Street, Devonshire Row in the City, Regent Street, Marylebone, and Canary Wharf — staffed by a team of HCPC-registered, CSP-member physiotherapists led by clinical lead Simon Purton. Across musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, women's and pelvic health, and post-surgical recovery, the job is always the same: treat the cause, not just the symptom.

We accept most major UK private medical insurers — Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, Nuffield Health, and WPA. Insured appointments usually require prior authorisation from your provider, so please obtain this before booking. Self-funded patients book directly with no GP referral, and we issue an itemised receipt for every session, suitable for claiming back where your policy covers physiotherapy. If you are unsure, confirm two things with your insurer first: that your policy covers physiotherapy, and whether they require a GP referral or pre-authorisation.

UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners, so you do not need a GP letter to see us — you can self-refer and book directly across any of our six clinics. We also welcome referrals from GPs, consultants, and surgeons, and we are happy to take on patients mid-pathway after a scan, an operation, or a specialist appointment. With your consent we can liaise with your wider care team — sharing assessment findings and rehabilitation progress — so your care stays joined up.
