Services
Hands-on assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal pain — combining manual therapy with progressive exercise rehab in line with NICE guidance. HCPC-registered physiotherapists treating low back pain, neck and shoulder problems, sports injuries, and post-surgical rehab. Most major insurers accepted.
Deep tissue and soft-tissue therapy for recovery, injury prevention, and performance support. Delivered alongside our physiotherapy practice — clinically integrated rather than stand-alone — for marathon runners, cyclists, and desk-based clients with chronic muscular tension.
Video gait analysis combined with strength and mobility screening — for runners with persistent injuries, marathon training questions, or footwear decisions to make. Treadmill-based filming with slow-motion playback during the session, plus a written rehab and training plan.
Clinical assessment of how you work at your desk — chair, monitor, keyboard, posture, and movement breaks. Resolves the workstation factors driving most desk-based neck, back, and wrist pain. Available in-clinic, on-site, or as a remote video assessment.
About Soho Physiotherapy
Soho Physiotherapy delivers musculoskeletal physiotherapy across 5 central London locations with a 6-clinician team, all HCPC-registered and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy members. We accept 8 of the major UK private medical insurers (Bupa, AXA, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, WPA, Healix, Simplyhealth).
Our approach combines manual therapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation — the combination NICE NG59 (low back pain) and NG193 (chronic pain) recommend as first-line care for most musculoskeletal conditions. First appointments are 60 minutes; follow-ups are 45 minutes. Every patient leaves with a written plan, and we are not interested in selling treatment courses you do not need.
Our 5 sites cover everyone from London-based marathon runners and triathletes to post-surgical rehab patients, antenatal physiotherapy referrals across all 3 trimesters, and desk-bound professionals with persistent neck and back pain. Clinics open 07:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 15:00 on Saturdays; self-funded patients book directly without a GP referral.
How It Works
A 60-minute first appointment covering history, current symptoms, and full musculoskeletal examination. We arrive at a working diagnosis and treatment plan you understand before you leave the room.
Hands-on manual therapy combined with progressive exercise rehabilitation. You leave with a written summary of what we did, why, and a home exercise programme to do between sessions.
Each follow-up reassesses against your baseline measures. Discharge happens when you have the tools to manage independently — not when symptoms first ease.

FAQ
No. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners — you can book a private appointment directly via our Jane App booking page or by calling 0203 004 8500. If you are using private health insurance, your provider may require a GP referral; check your policy. Self-funded patients never need a referral.
We accept most major UK health insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, WPA, Healix, and Simplyhealth. Your appointment can be paid through your insurer with prior authorisation — please obtain this before booking. We can also issue receipts for self-funded claims.
Most acute injuries resolve within 3 to 6 sessions over 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic conditions (long-standing low back pain, recurring tendinopathy, post-surgical rehab) typically need 6 to 12 sessions. We discuss a realistic course of treatment at your first appointment and reassess at every visit. We are not interested in selling sessions you do not need.
We have five central London locations: Soho (WC2H 0DT), UNTIL Bishopsgate at 280 Bishopsgate (EC2M 4RB), Devonshire Row in the City (EC2M 4RH), 162 Regent Street (W1B 5TB), and UNTIL Marylebone at 1 Orchard Street off Oxford Street (W1H 6HJ). Same clinical team across all sites — book whichever location works best for your day.
Yes — antenatal physiotherapy is safe at every stage of pregnancy when delivered by an MSK-trained physiotherapist. We commonly treat pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, and rib pain in pregnancy, and prepare patients for birth and post-natal recovery. Several of our team have specific antenatal experience; mention pregnancy when booking so we can match you appropriately.
Loose comfortable clothing, any prior scan reports or GP letters, your insurer details if applicable, and any current medications. We have private treatment rooms at every site and can provide gowns where needed. Allow 60 minutes for an initial assessment.
