"I had a fantastic experience working with Katrina as my physiotherapist. From the start, she was incredibly friendly and genuinely listened to my concerns. She adapted my rehab plan specifically to suit my individual needs and time frame, as I was preparing for a move and had a clear goal to be back playing football. Katrina not only helped me reach that goal right on time, but she also used a variety of techniques, including dry needling and massage, to relieve tightness in the surrounding muscles and support my overall recovery. Her attention to detail, encouragement, and tailored approach made a real difference in my progress. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a physio!"

"Katrina is outstanding. After struggling with a stubborn Achilles injury, she not only got me pain-free but back to running and sport. Her expertise in acupuncture, massage, and tailored rehab planning is second to none. On top of that, she brings great energy and conversation that make each session genuinely enjoyable. If you need a physio who combines real skill with a personal touch, Katrina is the one to see."

"Great experience with Katrina. She helped me with a sprained ankle with a very doable and effective treatment plan. The exercises were not overcomplicated and easy to incorporate into my day to day life which meant that I actually did them and was able to recover within 5 weeks in time to do a tough mudder. Really easy to chat to! Would recommend."

"Katrina was great with me! I had a hip injury and expected it to take ages to fix but with the exercises she gave me to do and acupuncture, it all went away quite quickly. I now have exercises I can do regularly in the future and knowledge on how to prevent. Great experience!"

Treating the cause,
not just the pain — since 1997.

Soho Physiotherapy has treated central London since 1997 — 28 years and roughly 160,000 patients across 6 clinics, with a team that is every one HCPC-registered and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. We accept 7 of the major UK private medical insurers (Bupa, AXA, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, Nuffield Health, WPA).

Our approach combines manual therapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation — the pairing NICE NG59 (low back pain) and NG193 (chronic pain) recommend as first-line care for most musculoskeletal conditions. First appointments run 60 minutes; follow-ups 45. You leave every session with a written plan, and we will not sell you a course of treatment you do not need.

The point of the rehab is function, not a temporary fix: we discharge you when you can manage on your own, not the first day the ache eases. Our 6 sites cover everyone from London marathon runners and triathletes to post-surgical rehab patients, antenatal referrals across all 3 trimesters, and desk-bound professionals with stubborn neck and back pain. Clinics open 07:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 15:00 on Saturdays; self-funded patients book directly, no GP referral.

Your journey,
step by step

Initial Assessment

A 60-minute first appointment covering history, current symptoms, and full musculoskeletal examination. We arrive at a working diagnosis and treatment plan you understand before you leave the room.

Treatment

Hands-on manual therapy combined with progressive exercise rehabilitation. You leave with a written summary of what we did, why, and a home exercise programme to do between sessions.

Reassessment & Discharge

Each follow-up reassesses against your baseline measures. Discharge happens when you have the tools to manage independently — not when symptoms first ease.

Common
questions

Do I need a GP referral to book physiotherapy?

No. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners — you can book a private appointment directly via our Jane App booking page or by calling 0203 004 8500. If you are using private health insurance, your provider may require a GP referral; check your policy. Self-funded patients never need a referral.

Which insurers do you accept?

We accept most major UK health insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, Nuffield Health, and WPA. Your appointment can be paid through your insurer with prior authorisation — please obtain this before booking. We can also issue receipts for self-funded claims.

How many sessions will I need?

Most acute injuries resolve within 3 to 6 sessions over 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic conditions (long-standing low back pain, recurring tendinopathy, post-surgical rehab) typically need 6 to 12 sessions. We discuss a realistic course of treatment at your first appointment and reassess at every visit. We are not interested in selling sessions you do not need.

Where are your clinics?

We have six central London locations: Soho (WC2H 0DT), UNTIL Bishopsgate at 280 Bishopsgate (EC2M 4RB), Devonshire Row in the City (EC2M 4RH), 162 Regent Street (W1B 5TB), UNTIL Marylebone at 1 Orchard Street off Oxford Street (W1H 6HJ), and Canary Wharf at 30 South Colonnade (E14 5HX). Same clinical team across all sites — book whichever location works best for your day.

Is physiotherapy safe during pregnancy?

Yes — antenatal physiotherapy is safe at every stage of pregnancy when delivered by an MSK-trained physiotherapist. We commonly treat pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, and rib pain in pregnancy, and prepare patients for birth and post-natal recovery. Several of our team have specific antenatal experience; mention pregnancy when booking so we can match you appropriately.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Loose comfortable clothing, any prior scan reports or GP letters, your insurer details if applicable, and any current medications. We have private treatment rooms at every site and can provide gowns where needed. Allow 60 minutes for an initial assessment.
